A vastly important by-election is being fought right now. It could be an indication of whether or not the Brown "Bounce" will keep him in power!

Obama is elected now...time to concentrate on this!

I was hoping for more of a splat than a bounce.

I don't think the SNP will manage it this time, the Labour party machine is just too powerful for them frown I fervently hope they do manage to unseat them though :crossesfingers:

IF they do it will re-create the "Brown will lose election" story that has currently drifted out of the Media's radar due to the Obama business....which would create another negative spiral for him.

IF they do not? I think Labour could be resurgent. I may hope not - but that's my guess.

He's going to win this one for two reasons:

nicely timed interest rate cut;

enough thickos in the constituency to believe the BBC and Daily Record message that the local boy Brown really has saved the world (despite all the evidence to the contrary).

Given the state of the economy they'll (IMHO) have to do more Jerrymandering than they have already to secure them another term...can't see too many people wanting these jokers in any longer...

It may just be me... does it strike anybody as slightly suspicious that the date of this by-election was set on the same day as BoE was set to announce its intentions.

Either to influence voters into thinking Brown is fixing it all, or to detract from a stty result and give it less media coverage...just a thought.

Well they got it.

Despite tthe fact that it was a hugely "safe seat" I expect a resurgence in Ministers' confidence levels that will be truly sickening.
