Labour looking to win?

Can't we just tow Scotland out to sea and sink it?

Ah, the start of the usual high quality posts I see. How about you pull your head in if you've nothing sensible to say about Scotland?

Fife is a pretty much safe Labour area, full of stey wee mining towns, full of muppets who vote Labour "because ma dad voted fur Labour". The SNP will have done well to reduce the Labour majority but it wouldn't have taken much to firm up the Labour vote, particularly as Maggie Broon seems to be a bit more popular in Labour circles at the moment. That won't last.

Well, I was about to say that every Scotsman I've met in person has been intelligent, personable, and hard-working. But, maybe I should pull my head in.

Still, astonished that it is looking like a Labour win.

Well...that didn't take long did it? Relevance to the topic? None.

There's an easy answer if you hate it so much, why don't you fk off back down south then? Plenty decent English people who love it up here.

Blimey, the margin is a surprise - all the commentators I've heard this evening said it looked like the SNP had it.

From BBC website:
"Labour, which had a majority of 10,664 in 2005, held the seat with 19,946 votes, while the SNP came second with 13,209."

Nah biggrin Just I find the "positive generalisation" of the OP just as laughable as any negative stereotypes smile Just ours seem to be a bit more...obvious wink

As you should. My "positive generalisation" was simple fact, albeit anecdotal. And I do quite like my 'stereotype humour'.

Still, a depressing result.

Might be just me, but that reads like the beeb have stated the majority for the 2005 election and DELIBERATELY did not quote the majority this time around, i.e. just quotes the votes.

Another way to look at this, a "safe" labour seat has had it's majority SLASHED in half!(see I can do cheap news/tabloid headlines wink it's easy biggrin)

I heard the winning chap on the radio, this morning, blathering on about the "scale of this achievement".

I was puzzled. The scale of the achievement of turning a 13,000 majority into a 5,000 majority, ceding a 5% swing to the SNP?

Only NuLPF could spin that and keep a straight face.
