I have just had an American phone me on my mobile offering a share deal. I told him where to go, but with experience of my colleague, it won't be the last of it.
Is there any way to block calls on a Vodafone account? To make matters slightly better / worse, it came up unknown. Now, I do get with held numbers I need, but I could block all unknown numbers.

The thing that really fks me off is I have held back my number, not given it to anyone whom I didn't know / trust and have been free from this bks for 5 years.

Anyone else had this, and how, if you have, have you got rid?

networks can block numbers, but they are reluctant, as it doesn't solve the problem. Plus as it comes over as withheld it means it would bypass their blocking thingy-magig anyway!!

What you can do is create a list on your phone from your contacts list and tell your phone to ring for them. Any numbers not on that list, such as private numbers will just cause your phone to flash as opposed to ringing/vibrating. It's better than nothing.

Depends on what handset you have - I have a Samsung and I can block any number I want, it just goes straight through to my answerphone; is very handy for avoiding people!!

You can block numbers that don't show there number, and/or show as "Out Of Area" so that it just terminates the call without passing through your voicemail.

Anyone one actually wants you will be in your address book anyway.

Might be worth a shot???

If they are using a sequential dialer it won't help.

Samsung F210. If you go into recent contacts, select the number, go details and then there is an option to reject calls - it is very handy!!

I used to get this and tried hanging up, telling him to stick his shares up his ass but he kept calling.

I finally managed to stop yankee doodle phoning me the following way:

Y-Hi I'd like to sell you some shares.
M-How much would I have to spend?
Y-How about a million?
M-Sterling or Dollars?
Y- (very interested now) Oh let's say sterling.
M- Oh that's too much.
Y- 500,000.
M- No, still too much.
Y- 100,000
M- Mmmm... still a bit more than I wanted to spend. I hardly know you after all.
Y- What did you have in mind then?
M- Well I've £342 in my post office account that I could use.
Y- Er.. Post Office account?
M- Yes, well since I was made bankrupt, I'm not allowed to have a proper bank account so I have to use a PO account. Would £300 be enough?
Y... click....brrrrrrrrrrrr

Bye Bye Yankee doodle tt! smile
