Well whilst her comments were ill chosen, I'm not sure what the hell it has to do with her job, especially as they related to a one off private communication where, although her request might seem a little un PC, wouldn't consitute racism in my book.

Where is the difference between this and asking for a female driver as her daughter might be scared of an unknown male?

Still leaves me wondering what sort of life that poor child must have though that she could even begin to be afraid of a man wearing a turban at her age!!!

Cant see a problem myself. We all have preferences, regardless if they are PC or not.

Pretty unacceptable comments, no wonder the poor taxi guy was so upset.

Still, that's one hot chick now looking to supplement her income... scratchchin

See, it's not actually racist to ask for a non-Asian taxi driver. Why don't English people understand the language they speak?

And what about her right to privacy, irrespective of her feelings about asians ? Should the taxi firm have released the transcript to the press ? If they had a problem with her saying that then they should have gone to the police.

If I want something done about crooks and villains in my area, I call the press. I think of it as the fourth emergency service.

When you're paying for a service, you should have the right to ask for what the fk you like.

The same principal applies to anything.

Whatever next, a woman being done for sexism for asking for a female taxi driver?.

Whenever I get a hire car I ask for anything other than a ford (Because once I had a bad experience with a C Max). I don't see whats bad in having preferences.

It’s one of those wonderful circular arguments isn’t it? Why is the daughter scared of an Asian driver in the first place? Quite likely due to the wonder of the Media (the world’s greatest inciters of religious hatred if ever there was one, even if it is oft by proxy) and the attitudes of her family.

I think they did the right thing. It's good to expose prejudice where it might exist.

Imagine if a 'muslim' had called up asking for a non-caucasian driver, in case he was a peadophile - the daily mail would have had a field day with that one - not all caucasian men are peodophiles obviously (yes, that was tongue in cheek).

But the recording couldn't have been used by the police - it was obtained without her knowledge wink
