I have a paypal account. I looking to sell something. I dont want this person to have my bank details so i want to be payed via paypal. This person doesnt have a paypal account.

The question: Can someone fund my paypal account using their credit card and not be registered with paypal? If yes, what details do i need to give them?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

They don't need a paypal account any more - just send them an invoice and they can pay by credit card without having to register. (but don't forget the charges you'll be clobbered with - might be better to use google checkout instead)

Thanks a lot. I wasn't aware of any charges. Is that a percentage of the money put in, or a set fee?

If they pay by card it's something like 25p + 4% of the transaction value, which is deducted from the amount you receive.

What's wrong with a bank transfer?
It's the best payment method out there and it's free and instant.

That's true.

Is it totally safe to give someone account and sort code numbers?

Yep - totally safe...every cheque you write has your bank account number and sort code written on it.

The only thing you can do with this info is pay money IN.
If anyone wants to send me some money, my bank account number is 00446369 and sort code is 30-91-91. Thanks.

Remember- Paypal is the least safe of all money transfer solutions and you get charged.

Didnt jeremy clarkson publish his account details in the Sun only to find some clever chap had managed to setup a direct debit on his account?

Yes, but I don't know how.
When you set up a direct debit both addresses need to match up. i.e the address linked to your bank account is supposed to be the same as the source of the direct debit request.
