Medals, order of mounting, any ideas??
Discussion
I've recently dug mine out as I have to wear them occasionally now for ceremonial stuff which is something I've never really got on with. ( This is not a shameless I've got medals thread!!!)
Apparently they are court mounted incorrectly as I have been told. Never bothered me, and never will but does anyone have any idea how they should be?
They are
GSM (NI)
ASM (accumulated campaign service)
Queens jubilee medal.
They are currently left to right as you look at them
GSM, QJM, ASM

Are they wrong? Does it matter??

Not sure, but these links might help you: http://www.medals.org.uk and http://www.medals.lava.pl/bc/bcframe.htm. The MOD Medals Office page isn't very helpful.
I had a wee look myself and it looks like you've got it right.

Does anyone know if you claim your medals if you didn't get them at the time?
My stepdad wants to get his active service medal that he was too stingy to pay £5 for at the time.
When I looked up the MOD Medals Office it mentioned that you can apply for medals you think you may be due. My stepdad wants to get his active service medal that he was too stingy to pay £5 for at the time.

Medals worn on the right rather than the left breast are medals that have been awarded to a relative.
It sounds like you have your medals in the correct order, but I'm no expert; perhaps the comment was made about your medals being court rather than swing mounted? Without knowing your regimental or Corps custom, I couldn't be sure.
Cheers,
Pete
