A mate of mine has just said he managed to walk out with a table and chairs on his last day! Can anyone beat that? Ignoring the legal / moral implications smile

I've got 2 A5 notebooks on my 2nd to last day.

Nothing more that the usual odds and ends from the stationary cupboard and a few bits that IT were going to skip anyway (I did ask).
I've still got the parcel shelf from my Clio 182 company car if that counts, that they had the cheek to invoice me for, without even asking for it back! Foxtrot Oscar!

....£10 to a fellow PHer, for the parcel shelf... wink

A 20-channel GSM to VOIP unit nerd

No idea what to do with it, but for now it makes a good doorstop.

It would be imprudent of me to admit to things I have "borrowed" from previous employers (well, one in particular), but only today I got away with 3 feet of bubble wrap and an empty copier paper box (to send my XBox to the mender's).

Tickets for london Wasps, didn't exactly pinch them though. I may also stay longer and watch the Wales Vs Canada game on friday even though i shouldn't without a ticket but im such a rebel eek

cant really think of anything worth robbing from work really, apart from those Celtic programmes from the game that player died on the pitch during it. £500 a prog for that game, never found the bloody things though!

I worked with the UN in Bosnia and at the end of their tour the Russian officers used to drive off into the sunset in "their" Toyota Landcruisers, resplendent in UN livery and last seen crossing the Serbian border en-route Moscow!

A guy in a place I used to work purportedly spent a good long time fabricating a circular staircase for his home alongside the actual stuff he was supposed to be building.

According to company policy, it was scrapped.

Also according to policy, anyone could buy "scrap" for a nominal fee and legitimately take it home. Funnily enough, he knew this scratchchin

I only ever heard this story 2nd hand but hats off to the guy if it was true.

Many years ago I gave a chap a lift home on his last day at work. He had ordered an empty case for a Compaq PC through work and was taking it home, which I thought was odd.

On the way home he told me that over the preceding few weeks he had acquired bit by bit all the internal components needed to turn it into a top of the range working machine.

My "parting gifts" due to the department redundancy included:

2 IBM Servers (Now in use hosting sites)
2 Cisco LD400 load balancers (which went on ebay for £2000)
1 HP Laserjet 4000 Printer
3 Dell desktops
Lots of other bits including tape drives, and some *very* geeky stuff.

It pays to be in the IT R&D department when the whole IT department is being scrapped! hehe
