Anyone else just seen this? Words really do fail me. It's the most disturbing and upsetting program I've ever seen. They are obviously several steps behind on the evolutionary ladder, to be able to torture and kill there own children and babies like that.

What most people dont realise is that this is taking place in the UK right now in certain comuunities, albeit to a lesser extent than shown on the programme.
There are still people who believe in black magic or 'ndoki' and will treat a child poorly if they beleive that they have brought the family bad luck. Rarely will they cast them on to the street but I have seen them being looked down upon within their family because of their 'bad spirit'
Its very hard for me to get my head around this kind of belief system in this day and age

Would savages with speech be taking it too far?
That is what they are.
Religious savagery. Transends racism.
The western world did this sort of thing centuries ago. But we did do it first.

Just chatting to my Muslim mate. He believes all this witchcraft and ancient rituals do things in the underworld that are evil, and it doesn't happen here in the UK because we don't practice ancient rituals like over there

Because he is muslim, it doesn't mean he knows EVERYTHING that happens in the world does it?

He should check out what our druids get up to at Stonehenge.

Actually no - not evolutionary, but certainly societally. A big difference.

Watching this now on 4oD.

Utterly shocking. The look of terror on the little kids face as their Dad comes at them with a machete because he thinks she is possessed frown

That's a very "UN" viewpoint. It's in Africa, their tribal issues and therefore backward. Wasn't that the response by the global community to the mounting tensions in Rwanda in the early 90's? "It's a tribal issue. It's Africa..."

Some other threads on The Pie and Piston bemoan life in England.

I grew up in Africa, and although the UK has some problems, at least you can REASON with an British person. British law protects us from physical harm, and grants us freedoms people from around the world can only dream of. I believe that is why so many people want to come and live here.

The vast majority of British people live by the unwritten code of reasonable, intelligent, open-minded logic. You may dispute this, and that is your right, your freedom. Wonderful isn't it?

Those children have no freedom, only indoctrination and abuse from superstitious uneducated adults.
