A desperate attempt to curry sympathy. Oldest trick in the book.

This beating was only a couple of thumps to say "we know who you are, and where you are".

They'll give him some time to brick himself now. Then they'll do him properly.

Must confess I'm somewhat short of sympathy in this case. They should wait 'til he is convicted, I suppose...

Isnt our justice system wonderful?

We leave it to the people we've locked up to administer the punishment.

Trust me, he's dead. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon.

He's been made aware by this little epsiode that they know who he is and where he is. Now he has to live every second knowing that he may be killed at any moment.

Cons know how to punish people.

He's not wrong. Or a game for his PS3.

I thought he was merely hiding the girl, with the mother's full knowledge, to extort money.

Why would the 'ard men inside want to do him in for that?

I would have thought the high profile nature of this case and the kudos to their reputation would be enough.

There ain't no justice like prison justice.

Really though, why on earth do prisoners feel they have any moral high ground or the right to dispense their own justice on anyone who hasn't even been found guilty yet? What's worse is people even seem to think this is just wonderful.

What puzzles me is how on earth they thought they'd be able to claim a reward for finding her? They seem to be in the lowest IQ bracket. Too stupid to realise how stupid they are.

However I don't condone the vigilantism in the prison or as expressed on this thread.
