Sadly yes, however then follow it up with a really strongly worded letter of complaint. You will have to accept that the mistake was yours, and that your complaint centres around the outrageous cost of the rectification of the issue.

The advantages of being christened joe smith with the legal name joe smith is brilliant, no middle names or josheph or anything like that to worry about smile

I had a block booking of 8 flights all with my name spelt wrong when flying between Dublin and London last year. Just used them as normal and nobody mentioned it.

To be fair her name is a little more than misspelt.

Mine was Neil changed to Nial, which is similar to the OP in that it's a different name but close enough... wink

We went on ryanair and my name was wrong on the ticket and they said nothing.

My gf's boarding pass said she was italian, but she clearly has an Irish passport, they still said nothing.

My gf's cousin who was with us realised on the way to the airport that her passport had expired. Luckily the looked so briefly they didnt notice.

I'd chance it to be honest.

Ignore it for now.

If they raise it at the checkin, then, yes, she may have to pay, but don't bother trying to correct it in advance.

Do you need a passport or ID to fly within the UK now?

Wait until the day, and change it of you have too. Alternatively, if the flight's not full, buy another ticket instead.

You need photo ID so could use a new style driving licence or firearms cert (as my dad always uses)or forces id.

To the OP - the name isn't that different so I'd definitely chance it.

I've been refused on an internal flight with Easyjet because my surname was mispelt to Boulton instead on Bolton. Not fun at 5.30am in the morning when you NEED to be somewhere.

They wouldn't even listen to reason when I explained that wasn't it quite obvious that it was me when I'm sat here panicing, whilst producing my passport, and the 'other' Neil Boulton hasn't turned up.

I'd get it changed if I were you and debate the charge afterwards.

Thats because it's the law that says they can't, it's not just some terms and contitions they apply.

To be fair, I didn't know that at the time, and is was a bit early in the morning.

Taught me an expensive and valuable lesson to make sure that my name is always spelt correctly, to the point I spell out my first and last name, as both can easily be mispelt ligitimately with alternative spellings.

If you want to lessen the chance of it cocking up, check-in online if possible. Then you only have the gate staff to worry about. smile
