If you get the chance to go and see him on this tour just do it biggrin

Went and saw him last night and he was as dry and hilarious as I had hoped! Heck I even enjoyed Otis Lee Crehshaw and the banjos...

And you don't often hear anything positive about banjos on PH!

He was one of the guest panelists when I went to a filming of QI back in April, very good indeed!

Would totally agree. Very funny man when I saw him in Newbury a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was definitely a really good show.

It was a very surreal moment when I saw him ambling around Gateshead Metro Centre on his own one Tuesday afternoon. He looked every bit as perplexed as he does on TV. Had the leather jacket on and everything.

Rich Fact: Moe Szyslak from the Simpsons is based on Rich Hall.

Went top see him a couple of years ago and he was blown offstage by Mike Wilmot.

I had to read that twice but I'm still not sure, did Rich get a Gob Job off Mike in the wings or was he just not as funy??

Are you sure - I'd be careful what you say, sounds libelous (or a celebrity urban legend) to me!

I saw him a couple of years ago over in Reading, and agree, he was very good and would definitely go and see him again. In fact he was in Bracknell a few months back but was already sold out by the time I heard about it.

He's a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe - had a brief, and pleasant conversation with him in one of the bars on George St a couple of years ago (precipitated by him tripping over my foot hehe )

It's worth looking out for a documentary he did for BBC4 on the Western - "How The West Was Lost". I was expecting dry humour, or a straight documentary, but got an intelligent, good old-fashioned polemic.
While he dismissed the spaghetti westerns too readily, anyone who can describe the film "My Darling Clementine" as an analysis of the post-Korean War American psyche is worth listening to in my book.

Just seen him on the BBC HD channel on live at the Apollo, first American that I have found funny since Joan Rivers in 1985

I've seen Rich Hall a couple of times and I think he's brilliant. His stand-up material is excellent but his musical comedy (Otis Lee Crenshaw) is even better so I'd recommend anyone wanting to see him live going to a Rich Hall/OLC gig to get the full repertoire.

His books are worth a look too; Things Snowball, a compilation of short stories had me crying with laughter! With comments like "To call my family cheap white trash would be an insult to used polystyrene" and "Sure he had a leonine main of hair, that is if the OED definition of 'leonine' is a lightbulb covered in sock fluff". Then there's Otis Lee Crenshaw's autobiography; I Blame Society, which is really very good too.

I read that book too. The quote about the hair was about Neil Diamond, very funny.

He did a TV show called Rich Hall's Fishing Trip, which was brilliant. Not sure it's on DVD.
