Hypothecticaly speaking if you where not happy with the way you look ie: BIG nose, Sticky out ears, small boobs, wonkey teef, little pecker.

If you where to go to your GP and complain that it is making your life a misery and you a so very unhappy, would they refer you to a Shrink to assess the mental damage you feel you have suffered and then put you on a waiting list to have the respective operation carried out????

Theoretically yes.

In practice, almost certainly not. You'd have to be really majorly struggling over a LONG time to get anyone to take it at all seriously.

I know how much you need one, but brain transplants are not yet available.

I've been told they will.

When I lost loads of weight, a few people told me to get to the docs, and I'd get any bits I wasn't quite happy with sorted, as I had already done most of the hard work myself.

However, no point in sorting the outside, if it's the inside that's broken

Given that recources seem a wee bit overstretched at the moment, this would take priority over what exactly?

A girl I worked with (MANY) years ago asked her GP for a nose-job. Because she had nice tits, a great arse and fluttery-eyelashes, the GP said to her "I can't do that, but are you telling me you're having trouble breathing through your nose?".

Being dense with nice tits, a great arse and fluttery-eyelashes, she said "No."

Being male, he said "No, I think you are!"... and the rest, as they say, was paid for by the NHS.

i have no problem with people changing the way they look its your life you can do what you want.

but NHS!!!!!!!! why the feck should the rest of us have to pay because your not happy with your nose/tits/arse etc etc.

save up the cash yourself and you can have your charlies transfered to your forehead for all i care.

Its unlikely unless you're having a major op (eg gender change) where a mental state examination / psychiatric assessment would be conducted. With minor cosmetic surgery I think you're referred directly, seen and placed on a waiting list

I see where your coming from and yes to some degree a person should pay for cosmetic surgery, however if it is effecting you mentally and something needs doing ASAP would you not condone it to be carried out on the NHS for the mental state of the person concerned?

I'm having a bad hair day, do you think I can get the NHS to pay for me to get it cut and blow dried?
