My son has just been regaling me with his latest 'claim to fame'.

He was pulled over by one of Essex Police's TV cop 'Interceptors'; Tissy, the one with the shades who seems to think he's a CHiPs throwback.

Blue lights on, to bring him to a halt. Given a friendly word for exceeding the speed limit in a built-up area.

Always glad to see my taxes used wisely; my son was on his way to school on his push bike rolleyes

No. Thankfully he'd left them at home.

I remember in the last series when one of the Interceptors nicked a chap for something or other. The chap asked the cop what the cameras were for. The cop replied that they were filming for 'the interceptors'. The chap then asked "what are you intercepting" the cop replied " er, we're intercepting you, init. biggrin

Fab, did it go something like

Badass Cop: Cease and desist perp
Your Son: Eh?
Badass Cop: You're in a hurry sonny, got something going down?
Your Son: I'm on me way to school
Badass Cop: Well, lets make it education not rehabilitation shall we?
Your Son: Er, yeah ok
Badass Cop: On your way little man but little less pedal and next time you won't feel the long arm of THE INTERCEPTORS <winks to camera>

I know someone who got pulled over for doing a wheelie on a pedal bike on the way to college and then again the next day, think he learned his lesson now.

It does.

Cause for a genuine complaint there.
