Free legals on remortgaging. BEWARE.

We have remortgaged twice over the last few years as our deals have run out. Both times the deals have come with free legal fees.Both times the solicitor has sent us a balance cheque, and both times it has been wrong, surprise surprise, in the solicitors favour. 3 years ago it was out by nearly £2500 and this time by £71.40.I've just checked and both times it was the same group of solicitors although it was a different building society.They obviously work on the basis that people can't be bothered to check, so please do.I'll be writing to both societies to "express my opinion" you could say....
