Looking for a new TV

We've just moved house, im looking for a new TV.

I wanted another Samsung as we had a 42" one which i sold to the SIL before we moved as we would be out of a home for a while and i didnt want it getting fecked sat in storage.

I really fancy a 50" or 52" any reccomendations? dont want to spend st loads £1500ish really.

Yes its over budget but if you do buy one it will have at least saved you from the plague of fking Samsung.

In fact if you do buy one you wont buy a cheap st telly ever again.

Yeah i know Pioneer are really good quality, i've had a surround sound system from them for about 4-5years and its still bloody brilliant, BUT, For the money will i get all the up to date features that i would expect from a more expensive panasonic or samsung?

If you cant stretch to the Pioneer, and you should as its well worth the money over and above anything else - its probably the best television that has ever been made, then the Panasonic 50PZ800 is the next best option.

FFS dont buy a Samsung, they are appalling.

cos mine died after 14 months and they said tough out of warranty, dont touch Samsung with someone elses bargepole,

Because I look at and setup televisions every day

They've been built to a price point, badly designed chassis, cheap electronics, mediocre film.

They've put poor quality innards, in well designed boxes and sold them at an attractive price, however you do not and will not ever get something for nothing.

Plotters, how do you rate the Hitachi plasmas?

I've got one and think it's wonderful. But then again, I did briefly have a Samsung which was so st I took it back after a few days.
