They do loands of different insurance policies relatin gto your home, which are you thinking of taking out?

None really I'm in the building trade and just wondered what sort of rates they charge for the trades.

There are a number of ways to take out policies on your central heating, it is worth hunting around a bit for different deals.

One of them tried to parallel park in front of my car. I returned to find that he either a) couldn't parallel park or b) couldnt be arsed, and so left his van at a 45 degree angle and protruding into the first lane. Idiot.

How good they are? I have no idea.

Dont want insurance or any other policy, they sell themselves as sort of handy men, you know pop around hang a few pictures or swing a few doors. Just wondered how good they are.

Axa sent them round to my house after a burglary to "make good". They ended up damaging more of my property than they mended, all this happened over a year ago and we are still battling with them to get them to come and repair the damage they've done.

O/t - Biggest faller in the FTSE so far today - down 28%.

When I bought my house (New build) it came with a 3 year or 5 year Homserve policy.....cant remember which.

Called 3 times so far and everytime they have been quite effective.

1) Drain block with builders rubble......was unblocked pretty sharpish.

2) Boiler went which was apparently a very common fault, they replaced the part and gave the boiler a complete service while I stood and watched....did loads they didnt have to.

3) Dishwasher was playing up (turned out I had activated a locking system) They cam and sorted in not time.

Cant fault them really.

My best mate is head of marketing for them, i have no idea about the quality of trades person (i would imagine different degrees of competence - just like the rest of the industry) but if there are any specific questions i will do my best to get info from the horses mouth.
