Graham Hill - ESPN Classic

Just watched a program that did the rare thing of changing my opinion about something: "Driven - Graham Hill" (on ESPN Classic, Sky 442 - wonderful for old racing, boxing and other sporting classics.
For whatever reason, I have always held a prejudice that Graham Hill had a modicum of talent and succeeded beyond his ability, perhaps being in the right place at the right time, lucky to win 2 F1 World Championships in an era when, arguably, you won if you didn't kill yourself (a feat in itself something remarkable).
There must have been a reason for my prejudice. Historical press and opinion, heresay or whatever but having viewed this program, my mind is changed; Graham Hill was a true and deserving double World Champion.
A 5 time winner in Monaco, the only man to win F1, Indy 500 and Le Mans and against the likes of Stewart and Clark, a true racer. I apologise to whoever for my past opinion.
Almost as an aside, he was truly British. British in the way we today yearn for the good old days, when we had a national identity - a bon viveur to rival David Niven.
I'm so pleased I caught the program by accident, humbled but proud and content for having done so and just thought I should share it with you.

And I bet he wouldn't have appreciated anyone spelling "programme" as "program" either 
I was always a massive fan of Hill. Champions who become champions through hard work and dedication are every bit as deserving as those who have a surfeit of natural talent - perhaps even more so.
