Not going, but I have dual nationality. What sort of job are you going for?
Just noticed your replies on "new life in BC", cool! I'm moving there in April (north Vancouver area) so maybe I ought to get down to the Expo this weekend. Oh hang on, I'm not "skilled" run my own business for 8 years since leaving school....hmm. Maybe still worth a look though.

Wanted to go, but will probably be working.

Hoping I might be better off taking my CV with my when I spend a month touring Alberta/BC next April.

im an electrician magpie so will be looking to carry my trade over there.

what do you do / are going to do in vancouver ?

im an electrician magpie so will be looking to carry my trade over there.

what do you do / are going to do in vancouver ?

Something in outdoor sports, before that, casual work, bar work, just going to be a bit of a hippy really. There's a couple of irons in the fire so far.
A lot of my family are involved in the oil trade in Alberta so there's always a job there for me I guess if times get hard.
You'll do VERY WELL as an electrician, they are crying out for people in the building trade & have been for years.
When are you looking to move?

depends on what i can earn/what job i can get.

i have a major building project on the go at the mo, but if i can get a well paid job me and the mrs would like to got almost immidiatly, and pay a builder to finish up here.

she has got dual nationalality which helps too

I didn't go, went jumping out of planes instead, but what was it like? Anything promising for you & your wife re jobs?
I didn't think it was my sort of thing as I'm not skilled/qualified for most of those jobs & don't really want to be tied down to a career when I go over.

tbh magpie it was poo

fine if your a construction proffesional, but not much for skilled trades.

this was really annoying as all the adverts i see are calling for plumbers/welders/electricians etc
although i did get offered a job in alberta with good money, all flights and expenses paid etc, and
they will pay for my canadian qualificatios i require, so im thinking it over at the mo.
