Parcel delivery scam

Any truth to this, its doing the email rounds at the moment?

Can you circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching -
it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making
people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and
that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO
NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize .
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If its a UK phone number (which it is with an 09 prefix) its not going to charge you 15 quid for the privilege to call it. Its a common misconception but its currently not possible to charge so much for a minute.
OFCOM regulates heavily the maximums that are in place for this. If the number redirects to a different one then its the redirector that pays for the international phone call, not the original caller. So don't worry - its a common scam on mobile phones where its a little easier to trick people, but even then its not that much.

Exactly, I found the above link by pasting the number into Google. Always surprises me that the first thing people do is post it here.....

A total scam, and worthy of bringing to the fore.
