Yes, I can't remeber why but it had something to do with her Morrocan partner called Samir being attacked and murdered.
It was odd, because I'm from Manchester I probably noticed it more than most. In the city centre people were selling T-shirts on the streets with Free Dedrie plastered across them.
ETA: It might of been something to do with that pilot bloke rather than Samir?!

I love how everyone, me included, knew who "Deidre" referred to. I hadn't even heard about this until today as I was too young at the time to know, or give a damn. Clearly Deidre still has a special place in all of our hearts.
