Because Macclesfield BC are a bunch of arse. The village where he lives is full of horrid new build mansions like this with all the original old property knocked down to build them. Shame its a beautiful village and ruined by all the development.

It is a bit of a shame really, but the houses they are putting in the places are rather nice.

Just a shame they couldn't build them elsewhere.

I'm afraid its common practice where I live. Leigh Road in Worsley, Manchester, also known as 'Millionaires row'. People buy the houses, rip them down and build a bigger one in place of it.

It's like keepin up with the Jones' gone extreme.

Quite apart form reanimating the dead, you'd probably have at least as much trouble getting a FLW type design through planning as you would some neo georgian monstrosity.

It's disgraceful that people get lured by pound signs, it's disgraceful that "new money" comes in and destroys the character/heritage/history/whatever oof the village and it's disgraceful that money talks when it comes to getting planning approved for these new builds.
