Great. I was a huge fan of this when the drama first came out years ago, prompting me to read the book plus all of John Wyndhams other boks too. Great stories.

The great thing about the books is that as a rule the humans don't 'win' they merely end up surviving best they can, which in this day and age where every film needs to have a happy bloody ending is a breath of fresh air.

Looking forward to it, but I cannot help feeling disappointed they have (yet again) decided a remake is preferable to new. I'd love to see The Chrysalids made in to a series.

This was quite scary when I was a kid.
It's about time, a great story and if you're younger than 30 now, you wont even know what a Triffid is! I use the term regularly to describe anything large and overgrown in the plant / vegetable world, and some people look at you like WTF are you on about! !

It will just end up as Survivors with killer plants. With the exception of the poorer special effects, the early series had it covered.

Bizarre - I had a pretty scary dream last night about me and the missus being trapped in a house at night surrounded by triffids.

Sounds ridiculous now I type it out but I woke up with heart racing when a window broke and the stings started lashing across the room (in the dream, not actually ).
