Limewire still works for free, just click later when the option to buy box pops up.

Get urself a bit torrent client, such as u torrent and then google for some specific sites that you can use this with

obviously this is just for backups and you have the originals etc

Thanks, and yes well aware of the morally outraged on here, at the mere thought of someone pirating music

my limewire used to offer the choice of free or 'pro' but I had a few niggles with it, and deleted it off to start again afresh, and now it seem to have become pay only

The problem is like cannabis it leads to worse pirating and before you know it someone who was ripping of Phil Collins last week is sitting on $100,000,000.00 of oil this week.

If that's the case, can't you just use Limewire Free, to download an installer for Limewire Pro?

I think we should be very clear about this.

Just because you happen to use the paid-for version of Limewire, it is still illegal to up/down load any copyrighted material, including songs.

The bottom line is that it's theft. Simple as that.
