Xmas present for the Mrs....

Following on from the successful purchase of my Mrs' birthday present (a pair of 255/35/18 Bridgestone Potenza's and a full geometry/alignment check!). I've decided to surpise her with a new double oven and hob for Xmas.

I need a 90x60cm double oven (built in) and a gas hob. I have a couple of questions...

1. Will a 70cm 5 gas burner fit into a space previously used by a 60cm 4 gas burner? I'm assuming that the extra width lies ontop of the work surface. I like the look of the AEG glass gas hob, are they any good?
2. I'm looking to spend upto £1000 for a double oven, I quite like the look of the DeDietrich range. How do these compare with Bosch/AEG/Smeg and so on. Are the DD good kit, or is there a stand out item I should be looking for?

Anyone recommend any suppliers for a good deal in SE London/Kent (or delivery)....

You have it backwards sir. The car tyres are for the gentleman, and the delightful new cooking device for the lady, to ease her nightly chores. (Good heavens, I'm turing into Paul Whitehouse...)

As long as it's built-under (ie below worktop level) then all you'd need to do is cut a few inches off the top of each unit on either side. It will however mean you can't have drawers there, only cupboards (unless the unit is slim enough to fit into the depth of the worktop). As for any regulations on this, no idea. If you like glass, why not make it easier for yourself and have an induction hob?

I fitted my kitchen with Siemens appliances and I'm absolutely delighted with the quality, style and performance of them. If that's of interest, I'd heartily recommend the supplier, Marshall & Johnson, 12 Davey Close, Colchester, CO1 2XL Tel [phone]% cheaper than internet prices (I didn't believe them but they were right) and outstanding service.

LOL, as it happens. The missus birthday is just after christmas so for Christmas she is getting a set of rear tyres for her car and for her birthday (she's getting these particularly early to save two trips to the garage, the lucky girl) a pair of fronts.

Now, in my defence its what she asked for, the tyres for the SLK aren't cheap and we decided a while ago to only ever buy presents that we actually would buy for ourselves. I'm getting a new pair of walking boots as mine are knackered.
