Deadwood - who's seen it?

Who's seen this? I've only recently discovered it and it is amazingly good. I'm totally hooked. Ian McShane is fantastic in it (as are all the actors). All 'gritty realism' seems to be all the rage, you have to think that this is quite close to how the 'wild west' would have been like in the late 19th century. Fantastic TV!

Absolutley amazing series...It was almost Sopranos-esque for me... The last episode in series 3 did disappoint where they just wrapped things up far too quickly....

As far as I can gather, there was supposed to be a fourth series but HBO pulled the plug on it. A tragedy

It was a story conceived in 4 parts but they only made 3.

Utterly fantastic and supremely annoying, all in one.

I watched virtually all of it and then for some reason fell out of watching the last series a couple of episodes in. Thanks for reminding me about it! I must now go and seek out a DVD box set....or something

Great series although I only really understood or could hear 75% of the dialogue at times!

It was axed just as it was building into something big in favour of a surf drama. There said they were going to finish it in two TV movies but I don't think came to anything.

We should start an online petition to persuade HBO to commission the 4th season... I know what you mean about the dialogue - it takes a good few episodes to be able to understand what's going on. I wish we still spoke like that. I'm sure if you did a weekend Deadwood-athon you'd come into work Monday speaking like that...

It had a lot of people on it as well.

Sadly however they've taken the set down, Series 4 will never be made.

I really liked Deadwood, but thought the 3rd series was the time to end it. There were too many characters whose stories either lacked interest or weren't going anywhere. I mean what was the point of the storyline with the actors coming to Deadwood?.

The main plot of series 3 was gripping, but too little time was spent on it. With the result that it all had to be tidied up in a rush in the last episode.

A lot of what happened in Deadwood (the series) was historically accurate. The third season seemed to end far to abruptly to be the final one. I think it would have been far more rounded had there been a fourth season. And we could have seen more of my favourite character, Richardson!
