Where to stay in Hong Kong

Need to be in Hong Kong for bisuness in a couple of weeks, and will be travelling to various factories with local contacts so good access to main road links would probably be useful. Anyone stayed in any of these:

Cosmopolitan
Eaton
Langham Place
Harbour Plaza Metropolis
Nikko
Marco Polo
Panorama

Or anyone have any suggestions - 4-5 star business hotel, but with an eye on costs...

Marco Polo is nice, but there are two of them. (Gateway and Prince I think - I stayed at the gateway a few times) Both are on waterside and pretty close to everything. Reasonably well priced too, and the better rooms are quite well appointed.

Another vote for marco polo, good location not insanely expensive, nice food (in-room)

I stayed in the Kowloon Hotel - behind the Penninsular. Was owned by them so had signing rights at the Felix Bar, now owned by the Harbour Plaza group.

I can not fault the Langham Place.

Try and upgrade to a club room, then you get access to the lounge, which includes free drinks / food.

(this includes beer, wine, champagne and cocktails)

I stayed at the Royal Plaza last month and it is recommended, I think it's 4-star, the decor is a very grand-looking granite/chandalier/wood panel style, which is not to everyone's taste though. I think I paid an average of £75 a night for the cheapest room (Expedia rate).

You want to be at tsim tsa chui, this is where all the shops are, plenty of places to eat out, 5 mins from train station by taxi

If your on a budget then KOWLOON HOTEL is very cheap for the location, upgrade to the club floor and for the price you get a very good good deal.

Stayed at LANGHAM PLACE 2 weeks ago, very nice hotel and again near everything.

MARCO POLO is also a very nice hotel

If your budget stretches stay at the PENINSULA HOTEL best 5 star around and overlooks the harbour.

Harbour Plaza is disappointing.

One ot add to your list is the Excelsior. Excellent hotel and one fo the best burgers you will ever get the world over is available in the restaurant, (seriously!)

I stayed there in july for 2 weeks doing some server and network upgrades it was very nice but i was in the upgraded rooms for the company. The offices were in langham place mall so easy access.

If you smoke use any of the bridges connecting the hotel to the mall and there are doors off to left and right that take you to smoke areas.

The restaurant was very nice and cheap but you have to get your head round the exchange rate.

Its $50 for a beer but the rate is / was $14 per £1 so its not bad.

Check out the mall as well its really good.

rooms are a little small, and room service is a tad pricey but overall very very very nice hotel.

Actually there are three Marco Polo hotels, all on the same road.

The best of the three is the Marco Polo Hong Kong, which is on the end of Canton Road, next to the Star Ferry Terminal and adjacent to the massive Harbour City Shopping complex (in fact, all three Marco Polo hotels are joined to it, since it runs the length of Canton Road from the Star Ferry Terminal to the China Ferry Terminal.

Expect to pay around HKG1100-1200 for a decent room.

I stayed there pretty much every weekend when I was working in China.

The in-hotel American style restaurant, Gripps, has the best fillet steak I've ever eaten.

If you go, say Hi to Lily and Jackel in Lobby Lounge.
