Is it worth waiting for the "January Sales"

I want to buy myself a Sony Freeview+ box ( http://www.johnlewis.com/230479181/Product.aspx if you're interested)which is currently £179 in John Lewis

I'm not in a hurry to get it and am wondering if it is worth waiting until january? Will we see any further reductions in the high street this time around?

I normally buy my AV stuff at a John lewis branch or from www.digitaldirect.co.uk but the latter dont seem to have the product I want

Don't forget 2 years warranty at JL too .

I'd wait for January, retailers such as JL are struggling at the moment as they are in the "higher end of the market".

Seems like there are lots of nice little deals around at the moment - about 5 minutes ago I purchased a rather nice Barbour jacket for £139.00, which normally sells for £179.00 in John Lewis and the like..

A search on Pricegrabber will find you the toaster a fiver cheaper delivered, not a huge saving admittedly, but a pint and a bit in real terms.

I'm a fan of Dualit toasters. Not cheap, but built to last.
