Dilema

A relative of mine is committing company fraud.
He has three businesses that are having problems, he prepares his own accounts and submits them to Companies House using some very creative accounting. He has also forged his wife's signature so that she doesn't know...
Not sure what to do, would you tell her? Inform Companies house?
I obviously need to remain anonymous

companies house wont give a hoot. The Vat / Tax man might.

Sounds like the business is fked. It's probably only going to get more fked. (technical accounting terms). He needs to (be) stop(ped) now as he's digging a deeper hole for himself, his wife and his creditors.

Yes but surely its a bit late to "save" them? and what could you possibly do other than give them a bit of warning?

Unless you can go and help get his affairs in order, and sort him out dont go telling tales - ultimately you will either speed up his demise or get blamed in some way, and end up the worst in the world in the eyes of those directly affected.

Just let him get on with it.

Reoprt it to HMRS, or you'll get fked over for knowing about it and not doing anything.

I've seen many people go to prison/be fined because of not reporting fraud when they clearly knew about it. (i know because i work in fraud for HBOS )

Now you know, and lots of others know you know, (and don't think that there isn't someone at HMRC trawling websites like this all day looking for indicators) you should tell him to fess up before the week is out or you will be obliged to do it for him.
