The Archers - Do you listen?

My car radio is only ever on R4, so if it's on, I will listen. Usually it's just on in the background, but like most soaps, it has its moments and one can get drawn into a storyline.

It's put me off Radio 4, tbh. I do find the foreign correspondent material, moneybox, comedies and even women's hour oops... manly stuff interesting but if I accidentally tune in during The Archers, I'll run away back to more popular talk radio stations.

First job after Uni, my flatmate and his mate used to listen to it as they had some joke running about fancying Shula (this was in 1975). Started listening then and have carried on- my children are now both grown up and they listen as well although my daughter is trying to convert her fiancee without much sucess.

I got into R4 & it's on twice on a weekday. I then recognised the feem-tune, as made famous on Tiswas (puddly puddly pum). I'm not an avid fan, but R4 is usually on in the office during the day.

Agreed. Nothing has my punching random presets faster.
