What are the decent brands out there?

Wife used to love her SMEG A2A (1000mm wide) range type cooker we had in our old house.

We now have a gas hob withe seperate oven and she hates it....

Anyone got experience of those microwave combination ovens ?
We've got a range-style dual fuel cooker with a single oven which means that it uses loads of electricity just to heat up a pie ! Was thinking of getting one of these combo jobbies just for small items as the current microwave is showing signs of wear and tear anyway.

whatever you choose wait until january and check out all the retailers before you buy. play them off each other if they are in the same complex.

also bear in mind b&q. i bought an indesit dual fuel range cooker for half the rrp in the january sale and £150 less than currys/comet on the same retail park.

Probably, if not, i am sure you could give the chief exec a tenner a week to stand there and hold it for you....... the cooker that is.

We recently bought a Cannon Gas Cooker, with Dual Oven from Dixons on-line





CANNON CHESTERFIELD C60GCW WHITE 60cm

It ticks all the boxes in the cooking department. I found Dixons to be £100 cheaper than Currys / Comet. I would recommend them.

We had a Smeg 90cm range in the last house and I'd have one again. Currently got a Smeg hob and two Neff built in ovens both of which I'd recommend.

We had the same problem and got a (IIRC) Daewoo combi oven. It's a great piece of kit and does jacket spuds in 20 minutes to

I have a deLonghi - 850W microwave, grill, fan oven (model ED8525S-SBD, a stainless steel, free-standing unit) - for the same reason. Oven temp and microwave power all adjustable. Seems to work fine on all three options (and combinations). Only point of note is that it seems to stop the oven after 30 mins, something it omits to mention in the manual, so it's really for heating through than 'proper cooking' from raw indredients.
Also, v. handy on Christmas Day, when the main oven has a bloody great bird in it.

I bought a Sharp one 12 years ago when I bought a flat that had no oven and it was brilliant. It was triple function: microwave, hot air and grill.

I moved into a house last year and took it with me. I thought I wouldn't use it as the house had a massive range cooker, but for small/medium stuff it's far more convenient and economical than heating the oven.

and has a special metal crisping plate that cooks pizza perfectly.

I just saw the price! Things are getting cheaper... I'm sure I paid over £250...12 years ago!!!!
