would I be able to test phone in person to make sure if does work on any sim.
and because they are unlocked would updating the firmware affect the phone in any way as it's a US not UK phone.

My small business is in Italy.
As a payment option we will use Gumtree as a Third party service that will hold and insure the transaction for us. Let me better explain how it all works:

1. The payment is done to a designated Gumtree agent that will hold and secure the amount involved in this transaction
2. As soon as you have made the payment to Gumtree you will need to send them the payment confirmation.
3. Gumtree will notify me to start the delivery process.

Scam. They are using the usual 'honestly, we can't touch your money until you are completely happy' line. They will be off like a shot.

Gumtree don't have an escrow service, right? That should be something of a clue.
