Using one of the Micro scooter for commuting ? anyone do it

Reading the thread about the bloke looking for one, just wondered if anyone uses them to get about on?
I have a walk for fulham broadway station to wandsworth bridge, takes about 15mins if going for it, just wondered if using one of these would make it any easier or would it just be more annoying than anything else ?
Anyone here use these things or can recommend something else to help with the small journey ( I sometimes take my bike but get off at Barons court and cycle the 2 miles, can't take it directly to fulham due to tube rules )

I went to uni on one a couple of times.
Advantages: It was downhill all the way and could get some impressive speed up. Upwards of 20mph in places - mildly terrifying on 3" wheels! Hence what normally took 20 minutes on foot took about 5.
Downside: Looking a twunt, obviously. Looking even more of a twunt carrying the thing back uphill. Stopping in a hurry on a machine whose primary braking mechanism is a bit of hinged steel that rubs on the back wheel.
If you can live with the embarassment and don't have to negotiate too many bumps/kerbs etc then give it a go!

Was an annoyance to the neighbourhood and I couldn't really take it anywhere as I was a weedy kid and couldn't carry it.
However by the age of 14 it was matt black and chrome, I had rebuilt the engine, tuned it up nicely and had it running on a mix of BP Ultimate and RC Nitro Fuel.
I then proceeded to hit a pot-hole whilst on full chat downhill. Spent the night in hospital and still have many scars to prove it.
Great laugh but ultimately they are pretty pointless. Now I weigh more than 6 stone its not that fast, the single cylinder whine is annoying and I look like twunt so its sitting in one of the garages collecting dust.
