Orange

Is anyone else having problems with the Orange network tonight. My phone went to "emergency calls only" about 30 mins ago and hasn't come back on despite me switching it off and removing and replacing the SIM. Any ideas?

He'd still have signal for incoming calls

Oh. I always thought if my contract phone did that it was to tell me I could only make an outgoing call to an emergency number and not affect incoming. He doesn't say if he has a signal

Right just got through to Orange out of hours and they said there is an issue in South Wales and their engineers have been aware of it for about 30 mins. For info I have zero signal, I can't manually select the network as it is not registering on my phone and the display just comes up with "emergency calls only"

Ummm.... If he runs out of credit that means you are referring to PAYG. If you run out of credit you still have signal, you can still receive incoming calls.

If your contract phone says Emergency only that means for whatever reason you can't get on your home network, but the phone has detected another network which it cannot use except in the case of a 999 emergency call. Hence, by the OP saying his phone is Emergency only, by definition he has no signal from his own network.

FYI im in glos, not far from south wales, so probably in the affected area.

Hmmmm

In Belfast here and I had a call on the landline from the wife asking why I had the mobile off. Anyways the phone seemed fine and I tried it myself from home and it went right to voice mail.

Called the home landline from the mobile and it worked ok. Suddenly all at once I got about ten texts from all the missed calls I had for about the last four hours.

Was later talking to a friend who had the same problem. Seems they are having a lot of problems.

i am on orange contract and live in gloucestershire.
my sister is also on orange pay as you go.

we both cant get any signal atall. swapped sim cards and everything. mine went off about 11:30p.m last night. apparently its been on the radio about it? :/

Yet. my brother and mum HAVE signal on orange in the same house ???
