A few months back I was told that under no cirmcumstance was I allowed to take the 993 to site or client meetings as it portrays an image that we earn too much money.

I grinned and beared this one, whilst I don't agree with the reason I can see the point.

Managing partner walks passed this morning and said to me that I have to buy a £20 as my watch gives the wrong image.

Currently waiting for a list of non-approved watches to land in my in box

I always used to take my watch off when out selling as I didn't want to come across as too flash. People get very jealous about Timex' you know.

Tell them to fk off. You saved for it or maybe even got it as a present. At the end of the day, it is your money/watch and they can't do anything about it.

This partner knows you've turned the bonus down yes?

I'd be pointing that out, forcefully if neccessary.

Seems pretty silly to me.

I bet they wouldn't care if you were driving a new 5 series or something similar

Envy - by the way, buy some absolute utter piece of scrap metal (a £50 rusty Lada or something) and start taking that to see clients.

They'll soon change their tune.

By the way, why are your senior partners a bunch of unwashed proles? Strange... confused

A friend of mine used to be the FD of KwikSave. They wouldn't let him have an M5 but would let him have an E500.

some people be funny if you turn up in a nice car, Used to get it with my old bosses 911.

But another client came to our offices and said 'looking at the car park, your doing alright so you must know what your doing.'

I've got an A3 whick I bought to go to meetings in but somedays you just want to use the P&J

I was told that I had to have a car which is representative of the company, which is why I get a co car allowance

if I couldn't afford one they'd hire me a car...

Maybe its time to join a different one with a slightly better attitude?
