Just been offered a Job in Zurich.

How long can I take my (UK reg) car over for?

Have visited the Alps many times, but living there would be very different?

Any fellow PH'ers who have re-located? Be great to get some advice on Tax/Renting/General stuff...?

Anyone with first hand experience, would welcome yr feedback...thks

I believe that you can keep your car on UK plates for 6 months or 1 Year.

If you need to rent a flat, get insurances, buy a car, pretty much everything, try this site Comparis

Rental property has been fairly difficult to come by in recent times. Having said that there are quite a few Germans heading back to Germany since the Credit Crunch and this should help the market.

I moved over to Switzerland in April and family (+ cars) following over in September. You have 1 year to register the car. I am going through the process of registering the XC90 and Chimaera as we speak. Not so difficult if you find a good garage to perform the logistics.

i lived in basel for 3 month (then maastrich for 6 months) and loved it (was single and 29). Expensive, but quality of life so good. Sonwboarding at weekends, driving to different countries. Love to be offered the chance to live there perm....
