"Work shy should loose the vote"
Discussion
Just a thought...
NOT those made redundant I must add! However those who have made a lifestyle choice not to bother working at all. The type of delightful individuals who decide to have a huge litter and spend their lives smoking fags and watching Trisha, whilst never contributing to society.
As far as I can tell politics is purely about how to spend the tax payers money. From my perspective I think it is fair that only those who have paid into the collective pot should be allowed a say in how it is spent.
I am aware that politicians must pander to the lower end of society to secure their grubby votes, thus keeping politicians on the gravy train. However if politicians were free from this burden and only had to represent the wishes of real tax payers this country might just start turning around. I think as long as the great unwashed are in a position to protect their life style we are potentially in trouble in the long run. The balance of taxpayer to spongers can easily tip us into the mire in the future.

I think those who fail to educate them should lose the vote.
I mean it's not rocket science, is it? Give huge swathes of society an absolutely useless education, and then blame them when they turn out to be good for nothing. How does that work?

They've had the same exposure to education as everyone else.
If that argument held water then everyone would be workshy.
The fundamental issue is that the thick and lazy have been sold a line that they have equal opportunity for inequal effort. They've forgotten that the world needs ditch diggers just as much as it needs neurosurgeons.

k me, how do you work that out? You mean we've all been to school where English is not the first language? Or where there is no common language? We've all been to inner city, sink-estate schools? All of us had classmates who's parents had no interest in them whatsoever? I don't think so.Where I live property prices are inflated because there's two good schools in the area, and if you don't want to live here there are a choice of private schools too.
Christ, you'll be saying we all get the same health care next.
i think the point here is about individuals who choose not to work
in our family we have a relative who went to university, and upon finishing decided he didn't ever want to work as he was above working, so has live off the state ever since never looked for a job, and never will, has everything paid for by the state even if he does live in relative squallow.
So then . . .
Is it right that he gets a vote in the next election, but the 17 year old girl that serves you tomorrow in tesco who's paying taxes doesn't ?

You should get one vote for every pound in tax you pay.
Not only that, but you should get better quality of service the more tax you pay (or have paid, in the case of retired/redundant folk) - further up hospital waiting lists, prioritised police response, first dibs on the good schools ... would encourage people to aspire to better pay and it would also discourage tax avoidance.Bureaucratic nightmare of course and could never happen that way, and there will always be the Jade Goody dilemma as others have noted ...
