Reducer bar

Anyone sell or know where I can buy a metal bar 1/2" square at one end and 3/8" square at the other?

I need to undo a wheel nut at 110 lb/ft torque with a 3/8" female socket on it.

Tried a 3/8" ratchet and a Draper 1/2" to 3/8" converter but both sheared.

Go the Kwick Fit and let them crack your nuts. Cheaper than buying a socket.

That's a heck of a lot of load to be putting through a ratchet and also a lot to ask of a 3/8" socket. Why not just get a 1/2" socket the right size, and a breaker bar? If 1/2" won't take it, you always have the option of 3/4.

So, clearly more detal required;

So tt nicked my Tamora locking wheel nut key. Or I lost it. Or a mechanic lost it. Or God beamed it up to teach me a lesson.

Anyway my nuts are well and truely locked up.

So I've got a universal socket. You know, the one with the pins in it that fits any size nut or, more interestingly, can undo locking nuts that have unequal faces or no faces at all.

You remember - they used to advertise them on TV all the time as "you'll never need to buy another socket ever again". Then all the scrotes that we are so fortunate to breed in enormous quantities in this country started using them to nick car tyres. So they were actually banned from sale in the UK for our own protection.

Anyway I've got one and it's firmly hammered onto my nuts. But it's 3/8" and I can't undo the nut as explained before.

So - I need a bar with one end 3/8" and the other 1/2" so that I can turn the socket with a 1/2" torque wrench.

A decent reducer will definitely take that torque

So whats sheared? I've previously put the jack handle over a 3/8 ratchet to get a bit more leverage

I doubt they will. Most tidy step downs will have what torque they can take on them, and I doubt very much that a 3/8 one will get a stubborn wheel nut loose.

I have a Teng reducer that takes my weight on the end of a big grolly bar, and I ain't a little cutie.
