best savings accounts ?

damm.. took me ages to open all my savings accounts and now all teh rates have dropped so looks like i need to reshuffle

anyone what what banks are now offering the best rates paying interest monthly ?

Be careful what you apply for, as when the base rate was cut last time I applied for a different savings account and by the time they'd processed it (sending off the ID) they'd chopped the rate right down so it was no longer competitive. No-one seems to have announced new rates yet following this last cut so I'd wait a week or so and see what happens.

Investec do a good savings account that pays the average rate of the top 5 accounts according to the Moneyfacts table, updated every week. Interest paid monthly or yearly. Only catch is you need £25k in there - fall below and they don't pay any interest at all.
