Is your house leaking from the inside out?!
I'm in a similar situation - ie: live on my own, but because its a top floor appartment I'm not washing the car with a hose pipe! (go to some elses house thats not on a meter for that

Mine's about £11 a month, without a meter, on a 3 bedroom cottage.I think about £800 a year but we switched to a water meter a few months ago and haven't had the first bill yet. I expect it to fall because there are just 2 of us, no dishwasher and the summer was so crap I diodn't have to turn the sprinklers on and used the new water butt anyway.
If you meter is one out in the road there may be a leak this side of the meter. Have you noticed Ms Addlington practising her breast stoke in your garden?

Family of 4, 4 bed house, using showers dishwasher & washing machine on a daily basis, filling up fishtanks (3off) & garden pond. washing 2 cars & regular use of pressure washer.
On a meter = £26/month.
Not got any figures on cubic meters of usage as yet.(will have to dig out last water bill)
There are also ways to reduce your bill. If your house rainwater downpipes go into soak-aways you can claim money off your bill. Also if you have a one off large usage, like filling a swimming pool or garden pond you can also have that taken off your bill as that is water usage not going out as sewerage.
As a comparisson I am paying less now than I was 12 years ago in a 2 bed house with only 2 occupants where I wasn't on a meter.

I have no leaks that i am aware off though

Seems a lot for a single person.
Yes metered bills are split into supply and sewage
the unit cost for gray water being higher than supply
Me family of 4 (wife thinks she's a woman in a mermaids body).
Usual family washing machine usage etc
Annual bill around £300
Make a note of the meter reading over the few weeks or so.
You should have 2 one is a quick look to gauge consumption the other will be the main
from which the water co will take readings for billing.
You could also surmise a large difference between to the two suggusts a leak.
Do you have an outside tap - that could have common access?.
