For what it's worth I agree with them, in so far as I don't believe the industry should be "bailed out" by the tax payers, certainly not in the UK anyway, which is where I pay my dues!

But B and D still have to make the decisions......or are you saying they don't really run the economy?Is it all the civil servants' fault. If B and D have no economics quals how can they know what the right decision is?

It has not helped that for ten years Labour have bashed the car and motorists, example own a 4X4 or a sports car and you are a pariah. Yet we manufacture Range Rovers and Aston's who now are on short working weeks and laying people off. Anti car has profound consequences as Nu labour are finding out too late.

Brown has a degree in history. Darling has one in art i believe (I await correction on that). They clearly know what they are doing.

I would add 2010, 2011, and 2012 as well at least.

The people I speak to do have economics degrees, masters, and doctorates.

I tend to agree, but keeping those firms around is akin to extending welfare for another year or more. No motivation.
