Charging batteries at the wrong voltage is possibly not a good thing as I have a 12v dry cell that I just accidently charged at 6v. Have now charged it again at 12v, but I think it's knackered.
I used to work with a guy who switched a computer power supply from 240V to 110V while it was on. It made quite a lot of smoke in quite a short period of time. Not recommended. If it doesn't say 110V on the back you can be pretty certain it won't work I'm afraid.
