Chairheads - Art Deco matters - where would I get these

Dunno about trade but whenever I see those chairs for sale they are super expensive.
I would just get them if I had the money, think of it as an investment piece. They are sooooo awesome.
Have you had a look on www.lauritz.com they have some really nice stuff on there and those charis come up sometimes.

Priced at £725 on their site. They also have that other chair, and a 2 seat version of the one in your OP. Must be retail prices quoted on there though.

why not give this company a call, I am 100% sure they had them in the papers recently for a good bit lees than the listed web price - especially if you are buying two.

I've always wanted a copy of Rieveld's red and blue chair since I did my first degree (Industrial Design) but have never found anywhere it would fit in - I'd have to buy a Huf [sp] house.
Tonker, just buy it - lovely piece of ID and given it appears to be cast ally I would say that price is fair.
Just a quick reply, I am a Upholsterer and sell modern furniture as well, that chair is a version of chair that has been at the shows for a while ( it was called a rocket chair ).
If they are selling that at that price, I would buy it if I were you, they are buying them for around £260-290 before VAT, so they won;t let them go for anything under £650 in a sale if they are struggling and on their knees last one in the shop.
Also to get your contacts to order from that company just to get you a single chair at that price, they would have to be vetted to start and then buy to start with on a pro forma invoice ( no one is giving newbies credit ) they will then have to stick in at least a couple of grands worth of minimum order, even then the unit price for the chair will probably go up by about 10-20%.
I would say buy it, is is reasonably cheap for the design of the chair, and I personally haven;t seen it around, I would stock that and sell it for nearer the grand mark and be haggled down to 900 with delivery chucked in in the current clmate.

It is actualy a version of the Rocket, ( Tampon's correct. ) It looks good but is is a cheap chair made in China, badly. The first wholesalers of the chair were Halo, in one of their many incarnations. ( Haloliving currently IIR )
I could prob find you a price, but I wouldn't be doing you any favours. There are now so many people trying to import these, that if you wait a bit, they will be 2pence in the sales, as the importers go bust, again.
The leather is King Arthur or hot wax. Again, not the best for durability.
We used to sell Halo when it was italian. Wouldn't touch the chinese stuff now. Most retailers will be having to buy a 20' container mixed with these on.

They are. Lots road started doing these sales about 8 - 10 years ago. Selling end of line, bankrupt, old, and clearance stock. They have been quite clever holding the sales when the public can go ( weekends ) and marketing them well. They make reasonable money due to the fact they sell to the public. It is a bit of a con really. If I bought a container of these, and sold them within the guide price, I would make a profit. I'm sure some people are doing just that.HTH

No, although they are based down the road. All their agency's are from aboard. Mostly France I think.
My profile has the web site of "me". We now make most of our stuff, with some really top end leather, hand made in Doncaster.
I have contacts with the original Italian factory for the sohos and rockets, and we do get a few from time to time for existing customers.
