Ice cream vans in Livingston - loads of them

I've just been staying for the weekend with a friend in Livingston. It's nuts: the place appears to be one enormous housing estate and despite it being freezing cold there is an ice cream van round the street every 30 minutes, well into the hours of darkness, complete with blaring tune. I've never seen so many. I can't believe it'd be profitable to have this many ice cream vans in the tropics, let alone in freezing temperatures.

Is this a Scotland/Edinburgh thing, or do they sell other things, like crack cocaine? I don't understand how environmental health don't get involved either, what with the racket of the stupid tunes.

They only play the tunes when they've sold out....that's what my dad told me anyway....

It's the same in Glasgow by Celtic park, I'll be there later and the flow of 'ice cream' vans is constant.

I'm guessing they have a sideline in other stuff as well...

As has been said, it's not ice cream they are selling. You could always ask for a £10 special cone, see what you think

It keeps the council house trash nicely quiet anyways.

Nah, I think they were all out of stereotypes as being Scottish they were too tight to order enough stock.
