1) There is no formal structure for removing the Speaker if he doesn't want to go.

2) If he does go, there will have to be a by-election in Glasgow, which Labour won't want.

3) The Opposition do not oppose the Speaker in his constituency at a General Election, meaning if he stays, it's a guaranteed seat.

The easiest way to get the guy out is to blackmail him, using his son.
