Another What Shoes Thread

Hi Everyone,

I need some decent footwear for work, but none of the numerous 'what shoes' threads has helped - I work in a shipyard, but office based so I wear a suit and appropriate shoes. I'd prefer some sort of chelsea boots to regular shoes (not worn regular shoes in years)

However I go onto the shop floor and walk round site a fair amount (it's a fking huge site), and it's wrecked a pair of perfectly good shoes in 3 months, so I'm throwing it open to the PH masses - can you get really heavy duty shoes that look good with a suit? Extra bonus points if there are a version with steel toes - save me arsing around changing shoes to visit different parts of site.

Can the Oracle that is PH help me? If not it'll be back to just wearing by Timberland Pit Boss' with the suit all the time - comfy and brilliant for the yard, but looks a bit silly

Caterpillar boots.

Used to wear them all the time when I worked for a well-known frozen food retailer that's also a country.

Comfortable for shop floor stuff, smart enough for meetings, but plenty of protection and warmth when in the cold room or hauling pallets around on the loading bay.

Doc Marten shoes or boots, they shine up nicely and have the option of steel toecaps. No, you won't look like you are about to kick their head in.

I've had CAT boots before, but found the Timberland Pro Series more durable - I might have to revisit them though.

If DM do some of their chelsea boots with a steel toe, then they would be perfect (I had a pair years ago, and they were both comfy and durable) - I hadn't even thought of another pair of doccers

I do like the Drucker shoes - not sure I could afford them though No prices on the website usually means I can't afford it, but I'm sure thtey could make a steel toe set for a price
