i know its true of the skeleton
every 7 years enough regeneration and replacement has occured that all cells are different from what was there 7 years ago

i found out that my mums mum and her brothers all died of lung cancer
genetically im quite like my mums side of the family so i thought it best to give up

i decided on teh weekedn, on teh monday i had 1 then on the tuesday i had none, and that was it. I did use one of those nicotine tubes you suck in but not a great deal but it helps to have a little crutch.

The first week-10 days was actaully quite easy. It got harder after that though. Weeks 3-5 were probably the worst.

5 1/2 years on and feeling better for it

never thought I would be able to give it up but now the thought of ever lighting up makes me feel ill

pure will power impending birth of daughter and mountain biking all contributed

Ar that is sad to hear but at least you have realised that you want to make your life better/healthier for yourself

Really want to quit but not got the strength or the will power to do it and it doesn't help when my OH smokes like a trooper. In a half hour drive i will maybe only have one by my OH can easily smoke 2-3, I hate the smell esp when someone in the office has just been for one and it is still fresh on them, i don;t like the taste either , but it feels so good to have the relaxation and empty head whislt having a smoke on your break. Still would like t give up though

So you can start again in 2011 and after a few years have another 7 year break?. Keep on like that for 50 years and im sure all the side effects of smoking will bypass you.

I know thats the stupid thing i probably spend about £84 a week on them but thats between me and the OH not all me.

Im worse at work i can smoke loads and its not good
