was in the pub at the weekend and this subject came up and so thought i'd see if anyone has any amusing stories.

can't really recall doing anything myself but a friend of the OH had a cracker.

basically she and her twin sister are a bit, well, nuts. their favourite trick as children was to follow their mum around a busy supermarket/shopping centre being good as gold. then when mum was busy queueing to pay they would hide round the corner, strip naked, then jump out shouting 'look mum, surprise!'

had me in stitches that. bear in mind they were very much under the legal age when picturing the above.

anyone match that?

No, but it sounds like you asking us to imagine them under age... pass.

As a child my parents had a friend with notoriously bad breath. She came over to vist once and picked me up, planting a big kiss on my cheek. Apparently, my reaction was to recoil with a look of disgust on my face and exclaim "Eurgh, is a pooh pooh in your mouth?"

My cousin was a fan of the coloured chaps on the front of robertson's marmalade when she was younger. Cue her and my mum getting on a bus, said cousin proclaiming loudly on catching sight of a lady of african descent: "Look Aunty Cathy! A real life golliwog!!"

My parents old next door neighbour went through a divorce and not soon after found a new man...

Que her 7 year old (i think) daughter, i opened Mummy's bedroom door and saw John kissing mum's front bottom (or words to that effect).

Had to try not to laugh too much.

On a ferry to france, my brother and i went to the toilet as i was in dire need of a pee. On walking out of the cubicle my brother pointed to a condom machine and proudly exclaimed they where baloons.

I went ballistic throwing a tantrum because i wanted baloons, my mum almost died from the embarassment hehe

In N.I up until the troubles ended, cars were subjected to spot checks almost daily. When my older brother was about 3, he and my mum and dad were driving home one evening. The army stopped them and were asking the usual questions, "where you going, where've you been" etc and randomly, my brother blurts out from the back seat, "My Daddy has a gun like that!"

My mum and dad froze in horror, as he had completely plucked that out of thin air!! My dad didn't even have a catapult nevermind a rifle lol. It took some explaining but they ended up driving home without spending a night in the cells!hehe

It was half term (I dont remember the year, but fairly young) so my brother and I got dragged along to Tesco. We were eating in the Coffee Shop afterwards, and I thought we went back to school the next week. Upon my mum telling me it was the week after, I proclaimed rather loudly "yay another week to bugger mummy".

I can remember the fallout and leaving rather swiftly, although it wasnt explained to me what Id done wrong. Id just thought id made bug a plural. It was some years until I realised what Id actually said.

My dad was in the Army, serving in Berlin way back when. As a family we had a pass which allowed us to go through the Berlin Wall, obviously subject to various security checks.

Whilst we were waiting at Checkpoint Charlie for the various calls to be made, I decided to imitate the very strict looking man patrolling the car. I stuck my pottie (empty of course!) on my head and saluted to him.

Obviously the German army didn't have much of a sense of humour and my dad was pulled out of the car at gunpoint and forced to lie on the ground whilst they questioned him about my improper & insulting behaviour!!

He'll never let me live that down....

A friend's 6 year old daughter is far too clever for her own good and , like most kids her age, has boundless energy. She was making a total nuisance of herself in the dentist's waiting room recently, jumping around and making lots of noise. Her mother apologised to the other folk in the waiting room, saying that her daughter's always been quite a handful. To which her daughter added, 'That's because you give me drugs'!!! She was mortified!

All dressed up in our "Sunday Best" (Easter Sunday this particular time) me and my sister were taken to visit Aunty Sally on our way to somewhere else...
Told by mum to be careful as Aunty Sally's house was "scruffy and a bit dirty"...

Cue my cousin asking if we wanted to go up and play in her room.

Me: "Can't. Mum says you're scruffy and we'll get dirty!"

hehe

I'll have to ask ma'ma about my moments, but an ex had a cracker...

Her family friends were of african american decent and had just had a new baby. The ex's mum and two older sisters had all held the little'un and the ex decided she wanted a go.
"Mummy? Can I hold?"
"No dear, you're too little, you'll drop it and that's bad, isn't it?"
"But mum!"
"No dear. Final answer"
Cue running, crying and screaming...
"But I wanna hold the monkey!!!!"

Kids are odd.

After dating my OH for a few weeks I was invited round for dinner, one evening,so that I could meet her 4 year old son. Everything went well and eventually the little darling went off to bed. About 3 hours later we were snuggled up together watching a film when in wonders her son who walked up in front of us dropped his pyjamas and said "suck that". Laugh. I nearly shat. My OH's jaw could be heard banging off the floor. 20 years later and were still together and I recently brought this tale up in converstaion with my now stepson and one of his friends.... well GF actually. What goes around comes around eh.
