Country cottage for NYE

Looking for help.

Can anyone recommend a website (company or indivdual) to look for a cottage that sleeps 8+ for new years eve? Ideally we'd have it for a few days, up to a week, it would be no more than 3.5 hours from London and have a nice local pub nearby.

So far I've only found english-country-cottages.co.uk to be any good, but most of what is still available is too far away.

This one. It's taken about a month to get this far, to start searching.

There's nothing like leaving everything to the last minute. Much more exciting.

In my experience I have found you need to have booked next years villa/cottage for NYE before you celebrate this years. You could get yourself a static caravan somewhere no doubt. Bit chilly but could be a bit of fun if you get enough booze in.

From experience the properties with these guys are much nicer quality than english country cottages. May be a bit late booking though..

Try the national trust website as well, but I think you'll struggle to find anything.

You can try the Landmark Trust. They have some really great places which sleep 8 or more. Old Forts and castles in particular. They have a book which you can buy and you have to phone the booking line as they don't currently do it online. Give them a ring and ask them what is still available.

We're off to Pembrokeshire and had it booked a long time ago. Your best bet will probably be hoping someone has had to drop out of their booking somewhere.

Plenty of nice cottages on here, know a few people who have used them. Mostly Suffolk way, if you see one you like and it's available, let me know and i'll tell you what's nearby.
