Just managed a chat session with someone I worked with on the WRC to try and blag a pass for Rally Ireland in Jan 2009.
I politely enquire about another fella that I worked with very closely, and hada lot of fun with only to discover he died from a brain tumour back in MAY.
How fvcking twisted and sick do I feel now.

I guess 'free' depends on what areas you want to get into, however right about now I'm just a bit distraught about the fact that one of the technicians that I've worked with for a few years isn't going to be there this year.It was last year.

Yup... that was what I was trying to arrange... meeting up for a beer - though generally in the last few years that we've done this it's been a home brewed boiled in a Tangia cup of Yorkshire tea

I was really looking forward to meeting up with him in Feb and spending a few days going through all the stages with him helping to set up the kit and getting all the stories from the last 12 months.
He really was a superb chap, with a proper Yorkshire sense of humour (the kind that has got me into trouble so many times before
), you know, never afraid to call a shovel a spade no matter who you are talking to.
He's one of the few on the crew that I really really clicked with, we had a great time together.
Sure am gonna miss him this year, as has been said I'll try to remember the good times.
