Bargain Shure SE110's

At £25, they are a real bargain, pick up a set for the daily commute or for the inflight hours, the noise isolation on these are exceptional.

Not for the audiophiles though.

I bought a pair of £70 Shure 'in ear' head phones! Half an hour of using them and it felt like someone had ear raped me.

They sounded great if you pushed them far enough into your ear to make yourself bleed..

ETA: anyone want to buy a set of slightly bloody in ear headphones?

Did you try the smaller buds? Then again, in-ears aren't everyones cup of tea

They came with four different sized buds. The smallest ones were the only ones i could really get in far enough to stop them falling out and for them to be able to block out background noise, but they were just too uncomfortable for me. I can't find any of the other sort of 'in ear but not so much' headphones that will stay in my ears properly

I have just discovered 'sport' style headphones that hook over your ears and go round the back of your neck rather than over the top of your head. These seem to be the best solution for me.

Just ordered a couple of pairs to replace my 'aging' E2C's... I'm on my 4th pair, they only seem to last about 12 months before the platic gets hard and cracks where they are bent around the ears... Same fault every time.

I've just sent my 15 month old E2C's back to Shure as they started crackling randomly.

The nice man at Shure said they'll send me a pair of these to replace them free of charge.

Cracking 2 year warranty.

I have to have noise cancelling ones to get me through a day at the office.

My e2cs did the cracking thing, got these and i think they're a step back and way too big but as a poor student they'll have to do.

Is it just low level noise such as office chat and the like that they work with or could you wear these to drown out heavy machinery?

Noise isolation is very good.

I have a pair, once you have the ear buds set right then they work a treat. I only have my *indeterminately branded music playing device* at half volume and there plenty loud enough, plus the noise cancellation works very well. I can't here anyone so I assume they can't here my music.

The only problem is, unless you keep your ears extremely free of wax then they do get a bit crusty, though are easy to clean with the provided wax removal tool!
